Tim Pomeroy's recent work has
been inspired by Neolithinc and Bronze age archaeology. Much of the recent work has been based on grave goods most of
which are thought to have denoted power and status or some ceremonial or spirtual purpose. Something of this original
intention translates into Pomeroy's work. The new sculptures have a powerful presence about them. A sonority and seriousness
of intent. They have the preciousness of jewellery using as they do polished stone and frequently gold leaf . The new
works have a symbolism, the purpose of which is for the spectator to define. Pomeroy uses a variety of stones
from granite to slate, marble and sandstone. Most recent works are of a domestic scale but he is working on larger
landscape or garden versions for a London show next year.
